FAQs on Abortion Pills

Is it safe to order abortion pills online?

Due to a lack of safety measures, the FDA does not recommend ordering abortion pills online. It is also not safe to have an abortion without first confirming the location of the pregnancy (if it's in the uterus).

Is everyone eligible for abortion pills?

No. There are many restrictions, including health history, the type of pregnancy, how far along you are, and more. An ultrasound can confirm the location of the pregnancy, estimate your due date, rule out an ectopic pregnancy, and verify if the pregnancy is viable, which can determine eligibility.

How long do you bleed after taking the abortion pill? Can you take one pill and stop?

Bleeding can last several days, although it can last for weeks or months in rare cases. Contact us to talk about your options if you have had excessive bleeding, if the abortion fails, or if you only took the first pill and want to talk about your options.

What are the most common side effects?
Every person's body is different. At your appointment, we will discuss your health history, what to expect, what to do in case of an emergency or allergic reaction, recovery, and everything in between.

"Wonderful experience. Felt genuinely cared for and supported. I highly recommend First Choice Pregnancy Services."

Health and Safety First

An ultrasound is an important health and safety step that can confirm if the pregnancy is viable and discover exactly how far along you are. This information can determine your options as well as the price or cost of an abortion if you decide not to continue your pregnancy.

If you are having a naturally occurring miscarriage, the results may make an abortion unnecessary. Your health and safety come first here. While we do not provide or refer for abortion services, we can give you the answers you need to make an informed and empowered choice for your health and future. We can also provide free pregnancy resources and access to additional aid near you.

It's the Pill is not a medical clinic, online abortion provider, or abortion referral site. Referrals include free consultations on pregnancy options, information on risks and side effects, limited pregnancy, and sexual health services. The reproductive clinics we refer to do not provide or refer for abortion services. An ultrasound can confirm whether your pregnancy is progressing, if you are beginning to experience a miscarriage, if the pregnancy is located inside the uterus, and verify how far along you are. If no intrauterine pregnancy is detected, you may be experiencing an ectopic pregnancy—a life-threatening condition that requires immediate emergency medical attention. Ultrasound findings may also affect what medical options are available, including the type of abortion, or when prenatal care should begin.
