THE Abortion Pill
health and safety checklist

Before you take the abortion pill, it is important to confirm:
Viability of the pregnancy (an ultrasound can confirm that a natural miscarriage is not occurring).
The pregnancy is located inside the uterus. An ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate emergency medical attention and cannot be removed with abortion pills.
You are not more than 10 weeks pregnant (confirmed by ultrasound).
Rh factor. If you are RH-negative, you may require a Rhogam shot after an abortion or miscarriage.
If an IUD is in place, it would need removed.
You are not allergic to or at risk for a reaction to the drugs used in the abortion pill regimen.
Your safety and health are our priority. While we do not provide or refer for abortion services, we can provide the necessary medical screenings and health consultations you need to make an informed choice. We do not require a driver's license to receive services.

No. The abortion pill is taken to end a pregnancy after viability and location have been confirmed. Emergency contraceptives should not be taken if you are already pregnant. Contact us to confirm a viable, intrauterine pregnancy and explore your options.
What are the side effects?
Common side effects include cramping, contractions, heavy bleeding, abdominal pain, vomiting, prolonged bleeding, infection, and allergic reactions. However, every person's body is different. An incomplete abortion can occur, but is less common.
Can anyone take the abortion pill?
Abortion pills cannot be taken if the pregnancy is ectopic. Other health conditions can also make someone ineligible for the abortion pill. We can provide a free ultrasound and talk through your health history to help you avoid any unnecessary risks.
